Welcome to the University of Warwick's
Digital Systems Group. The Group is based within
the
School of Engineering and is a part of the
Electrical and Electronics Engineering Division. It was set up in 1991 to carry out research
in the aspects of digital signal processing and VLSI design.
This Web site introduces members of the Group (academic and research staff as well as research students)
and gives information on research currently underway in the areas of digital signal processing and VLSI
design. Some of the Group's publications (journals, conference papers, articles and others) can also be
found on this Web site. There are also demonstrations of research work like wave equation animation,
image processing, filter design, sonar signal processing and others. Graduate students interested in
joining the Group will find information on our academic programs in the Graduate Research Opportunities
page, while The Problems to Try page lists some problems with answers that have so far remained elusive.
Any suggestions on how to solve these problems are most welcome and appreciated.
Have a look also at the web sites of Image Processing and Expert Systems Group,
Intelligent Systems Group and Multimedia Coding Group (based in the
Department of Computer Science).
These groups along with the
Digital Systems Group are involved in
all aspects of signal and image processing and are mainly concerned with the processing of signals
and their identification, classification, storage and transmission which involve both algorithmic
development and hardware implementation.
