2014 Roadworks to Reduce Congestion

Over the course of 2014 there will be a number of significant road works affecting roads near our campus as part of Coventry City Council's University of Warwick and Westwood Business Park Congestion Relief Scheme.

The scheme aims to to reduce congestion, improve bus service reliability and provide improved facilities for pedestrians and cyclists around the University of Warwick, Westwood Business Park and the A45.

First works: January 2014

Junction between Kenilworth Road and A45

The first of these works has started on the junction between Kenilworth Road and the A45. The Council says these initial works will be for the replacement of lighting along Kenilworth Road. This work will take place in non-peak hours, between 9:30am and 3:30pm from Monday to Friday. However, some right turn restrictions will be in place for up to 3 weeks from Saturday 11 January.

Other works

Other works will include improments to junctions on Gibbet Hill Road including its junction with Kenilworth Road, and to junctions on Stoneleigh Road and Mitchell Avenue. Full details and timings are not available but the Coventry City Council report about the scheme gives more information on the proposals.

We will update our news page with more information as and when we have it.
