Local Summer Festivals and Events 2016

This summer sees a host of events taking place in the local area - from festivals to carnivals and music to food, and lots of free and ticketless entertainment on offer. Read on to see what you can enjoy in the area this summer...

Friday 10th and Saturday 11th June:

Random String Micro Festival

Coventry FabLab is supporting this exciting day explores technology and art, and will feature digital artworks, hands-on arts activities and workshops. Event is completely free and open to all. The microFestival takes place in City Arcade on Saturday 11 June and is accompanied by a Symposium at Warwick Arts Centre on Friday 10 June. Read the full press release.

Thursday 16th June:

Aviva Women's Tour

We are very much looking forward to seeing the Aviva women’s cycle tour pass through campus in its journey through the region for stage 2 of the national race. It's a fantastic opportunity to get involved in activities, relax and watch the race.

Sunday 12th June:

Burton Green Community Fun Day

Warwick has sponsored the Community Fun Day to celebrate the 90th birthday of her Majesty the Queen.

Saturday 18 & Sunday 19 June:

Coventry Pride

Warwick is proud to be one of the main sponsors of this year's Coventry Pride, the Main location for Coventry Pride is Fargo Village, which will host a selection of market and food stalls with 2 music stages providing entertainment thorughout the weekend.

Saturday 18 & Sunday 19 June:

Leamington Peace Festival

Enjoy a diverse and packed programme of events, workshops, talks, stalls and performances, showcasing local talent, crafts and causes as well as raising awareness on worldwide issues. Warwick Volunteers will be helping on the day with activities.

Saturday 25 June:

Canley Community Centre Painting

Warwick Volunteers will be helping to paint the outside walls of the Canley Community Centre to give it a fresh new look.

Thursday 30 June, WBS:

Talking Birds Cart on campus (More information to come)

An international theatre and community event organised by Rachel King in CES and being held in WBS which will bring to together academics and artists from Warwick/Coventry and Toronto. Janet Vaughn from Talking Birds and Chris O’Connell from Theatre Absolute will be taking part.

Friday 1, Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 July:

Godiva Festival

For over 15 years, The Godiva Festival, held in Coventry’s War Memorial Park has maintained its place as one of the biggest and best FREE, ticketless family festivals in the country. The headline acts have been announced, and the line-ups across the whole of the three days promise to keep the massed crowds entertained.

Saturday 2 July

Kenilworth Carnival

Kenilworth Carnival raises funds for local charities while bringing the town together to share in a day of family fun, featuring a street procession with floats, walkers and marching bands, led by the Carnival Queen and her attendants.

Saturday 27 August:

Kenilworth 750 – The Town Commemoration

A day of family fun Mediaeval-themed entertainment as Kenilworth marks the 750th anniversary of the Siege.

12 - 18 September:

Kenilworth Arts Festival

Kenilworth Arts Festival aims to bring together some of the finest contemporary music, literature and art from across the country, as well as to offer a platform for bright local talent. For one week in September, the town will be transformed into a hive of creative exploration; a celebration of art, imagination, community and the remarkable setting that is Kenilworth. Expect headline events, workshops, art trails, a free, open-air gathering, and much more.
