Over 2,000 energy efficient lights installed last academic year

In the academic year 2016/17 we installed 2,122 energy-efficient LED lights around campus. These new LED lights are up to 80% more efficient than the ones they replaced, and have been installed in the Butterworth Hall, the IMC, the Physics labs and workshop and Arthur Vick 3.

Lighting forms a significant proportion of our energy use and the resulting carbon emissions. We'll continue upgrading the lighting on our campus this year, alongside a range of other projects all aimed at improving the efficiency of the University.
