'Foresight on Africa' course a sucess

On 20 June, Warwick in London delivered its first “Foresight on Africa” course in collaboration with SOIF, The School of International Futures, and DCDC, the Ministry of Defence’s Development, Concepts and Doctrine Centre. The unique one-day course was attended by participants from NGOs, Management Consultancies and academic institutions and offered participants a multi-disciplinary and multi-national analysis of Africa’s possible trajectories over the next 20 years. Stimulated by expert views on global strategic trends and possible future scenarios for Africa, students engaged in lively discussion about what the analysis might mean for them and/or their organisations who work in Africa or with African stakeholders. The course also included a session from Professor Franklyn Lisk from Warwick’s Department of Politics and International Studies.

The feedback from the course participants was very positive and Professor Abhinay Muthoo, Dean of Warwick in London said “this is an exciting collaboration for Warwick in London which has led to the development of our first short course. The course provided an excellent combination of academic insight and industry expertise”
