I graduated in Law with Honors in 1984, from the University Federico II of Naples. In 2006 I completed an MA in Italian Studies: Culture and Communication, writing a dissertation on translation of Neapolitan dialect into English.
I am studying for a PhD in Italian Studies, writing a thesis in Theatre and Translation with the title 'Translation of Dialect and Cultural Translfer: an Analysis of Eduardo De Filippo's theatre', which looks at the cultural transfer from Neapolitan dialect into English in translations of plays by the Neapolitan playwright Eduardo De Filippo (1900-1984). My project involves a comparative text analysis aiming to investigate how Neapolitan culture is represented in the English speaking world.

Experience in translation
After completing my legal training, in 1991 I began to work as a legal translator and later was included in the list of translators of the Italian Consulate in London for which I still actively work as a translator and interpreter. My work in translation spans from law to theatre and music, and I have worked for various British institutions, including the BBC and the Royal College of Music. In January 2006 I worked at the RSC in Stratford-upon-Avon, as an interpreter for Compagnia Pippo Delbono, which staged Henry V, during the Shakespeare Complete Works Festival.
