Using our resources? We'd love to know how! Please drop us a line (C.Rowan{at}warwick.ac.uk) with a brief description so we can continue to add materials here!

Tokens

Since what tokens look like are not widely known, we attach here the public domain copy of Rostovtzeff's catalogue to facilitate wider academic and public knowledge about these objects.

Rostovtzeff, Tesserarum Urbis Romae et Suburbi. Text. Plates I-II, III-VI, VII-IX, X-XII.

Resources created by undergraduates:

Tokens showing spectacles. An English translation of a selection of Rostovtzeff's Latin text by Becky Rolfe. Read more about animal tokens in Rome on her poster.

Tokens in the British Museum showing Minerva, Athena or Roma. An analysis by Beth Moreing.
