Assessment

Assessment of the module consists of (a) a final exam (May/June 2020) and (b) two essays, one in Term 1 and one in Term 2. The word limit for each essay is 2,500 words. The exam counts for 50% of the final mark, and the two essays together make up for the remaining 50%.

Essays

It is important that deadlines are met, and that word limits are respected. Should you need an extension for your essay, please contact the Director of Undergraduate Studies. Late submission will entail a penalty (5% for each day).

Please note that plagiarism is severely punished: always cite your sources, don’t omit quotation marks where needed, and don’t copy and paste developments found on the internet…

For more information on essay marking criteria, word limits etc, please consult the links at the Academic Advice page. The module tutor is available to answer your questions re. methodology, bibliography and other issues that you may have re. the completion of your essay or the module generally.
