Module Aims

Writing Louder will engage you as writers and critics of performance poetry. Working together across the module we will create a critical toolbox for assessing performances and develop skills which will enable you to perform spoken word poems with increased skill and confidence. You will reflect critically on the performance of poems as an element of the wider context of international contemporary performance poetry cultures, and you will also gain insights into the spoken word industry including advice and guidance for organizing and hosting your own spoken word events.
