Acknowledgements

The Women in Modern Irish Culture project has been generously supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. The funds provided by the AHRC allowed for the employment of two post-doctoral fellows. Dr Jim MacPherson worked with the project throughout its life span, while Dr Anne Mulhall employed on the project for one year, continued to contribute to the work of the project by attending conferences and seminars to disseminate the findings of our work. We are tremendosuly grateful for the enthusiasm with which these post-docs carried through the work of the project. We also had the opportunity to take advantage of the skills of newly-minted doctoral fellows Emma Radley, Sarah O'Connor and Rochelle Sibley. They were joined in the last stages of the project by two research assistants who worked on Irish language sources, Siobhan Ni Mhaolain and Sinead Molony. Without the work of Robert O'Toole of Warwick IT Services this database could not have been built. We are grateful for the work Rob has put into creating a website that allows for intuitive searching, that offers both complex and simple searches and provides such easy access to the information by those who will use it. The International Advisory Board offered assistance as requested and provided ideas and names of writers who did find their way into this database. We are grateful to the numerous librarians and archivists who assited us and answered our various queries. We are particularly grateful to Monica Cullinan of the UCD library for her guidance and advice.
