Our instruments
  • Pipa - a four-stringed pear shaped lute - it came to China from Central Asia around the time of the Han Dynasty and became very popular during the Tang Dynasty, which is often thought of as the golden age of Chinese civilization.

In the twentieth century, the Pipa is adopting both traditional and folk repertoires. It is also a virtuoso instrument in the classical Chinese orchestra as well as the Western orchestra. Over recent decades, innovations have been made in both compositional and performing techniques.
