About

Phoebe Oliver began her PhD in 2014. Her project entails a multi-lingual study of printed dialogues from the Iberian Peninsula in the early nineteenth century. It explores how such publications linked literature and public debate, and consequently addresses their possible contribution to and articulation of debates on nation and national identity during the Peninsular War. To this end, it engages with contemporary scholarship on nation and its use as a (literary-)historical framework and in Iberian, Postcolonial and Mobility Studies as responses to limitations of such frameworks.
