Renaissance and Early Modern Studies at Warwick 2007

The primary aim of this interdisciplinary conference is to encourage the many staff and students, across several departments, currently involved in postgraduate research in the Renaissance and Early Modern period, to come together and share their ideas. The interdisciplinary study of the Renaissance has been a strong feature of the University of Warwick since the appointment of John Hale as the founding professor of History in 1964. The Centre for the Study of the Renaissance currently has twenty-four staff members drawn from the departments of English, French, History, History of Art, and Italian, and from the AHRB Centre for the Study of Renaissance Elites and Court Cultures.

Interested staff and students from any other academic institution would be very welcome to attend. We hope to make this conference an annual event and, in the future, to invite contributions from non-Warwick as well as Warwick graduate students.

The conference will be held on:

Wednesday 21st March 2007

Venue: The Chaplaincy, University of Warwick

Professor Jonathan Bate

Professor Eric Ives
