PIIRUS - Connecting researchers. Crossing boundaries
Rhiannon Taylor, Piirus Support Officer, presented Piirus - a networking website designed to match researchers to other potential research collaborators,
to enable them to build networks and explore new ideas. Piirus is aimed at established, early career and doctoral researchers and is easy, quick, free

Open Access Publishing
Helen Albrow, University Open Access Officer presented on Open Access Publishing. She defineed what is meant by OA Publishing , outlined the
possible routes to and benefits of OA publishing and gave details of support at Warwick for Open Access. 'Best effort' to provide Open Access was
required in 7 pilot areas under FP7. Under Horizon 2020 there is an obligation to provide Open Access to peer reviewed publications in all areas
(during the project). Publishing costs are eligible-costs for projects whilst projects are running. (the presentation(PDF Document)).
 
3) Any Other Business
LD referred to an email from Trevor Brown regarding Finance Support sessions for EU Project Managers. The Network agreed that this could
potentially be of interest.

ACTION POINT: LD to convene a sub-group meeting to discuss potentially useful content of such sessions.
