Advanced Materials 2 Porosimetry

Micromeritics ASAP2020 Gas Adsoprtion Apparatus

Location Chemistry, University of Warwick (C115)
Custodian Professor Richard Walton
Applications

Measurement of surface area, pore size and shape e.g. in catalysts and bio-scaffolds, gas storage materials such as carbons, zeolites and metal organic frameworks.

Chemisorption can be used to investigate active metals dispersions or surface acidity of catalysts.

Materials with low surface areas such as powdered metals, glass fibers, and natural organic materials can also be analysed.
Specification
    • Automated volumetric nitrogen adsorption
    • Other gases such as Argon may be used for materials with low surface areas
    • Chemisorption option
    • Measures surface areas from 0.001 – 3000 m2 g-1.
    AM2 porosimeter
