Protocols
Malawi and Tanzania have different areas of focus, which guides the way in which they are assessing the impact of the training delivered.
Tanzania
In Tanzania, the infrastructure for training is well-established so here the particular area of interest is to complete post-course assessments to judge how effectively the students are learning.
The August 2011 training report provides details on how the work is progressing.
The research protocol shows how the project is being assessed within Tanzania.
Malawi
In Malawi, the courses are being developed as the project progresses, and there is a research topic to examine how effectively the teaching is both received and cascaded to other members of staff (nurses, midwives) who have not been able to attend the ETATMBA training courses.
The research research protocol for this research provides full details.
