Doing Research Together

9.00am – 1.30pm at Warwick Medical School

A workshop for healthcare practitioners who

  • are curious about what “doing” research involves
  • wish to explore how research might be of relevance to local healthcare delivery
  • want to know how to get started
  • are interested in funding, training and collaborative opportunities
  • want to meet other like-minded colleagues

Workshop Fee: Normally £75, but free to primary care/community care practitioners working in the West Midlands.

Group Sessions
  • Getting Started: What’s involved in planning and implementing new research
  • “What it was like for me” – practitioner perspectives of undertaking a first piece of work
  • Local funding and support opportunities
  • Participating in local studies
Skills workshops
  • Workshop 1 Questionnaire Design – a practical introductory skills workshop
  • Workshop 2 Doing Qualitative Research – a practical introductory workshop
  • Workshop 3 Undertaking a Literature Review: basic principles

Skills workshops limited to 15 delegates to facilitate active participation. Workshops will be repeated so that delegates can attend two of the three options.

Please nominate your preferred workshops when booking.

In addition, delegates can attend a research surgery between 11.00 a.m. and 12.30 pm. to discuss their research ideas with an experienced researcher. Please reserve your 15-minute session at the time of booking.
