A string quartet based at Warwick Medical School is hoping that music will prove to be the best therapy for patients and staff at a Coventry hospital.
The Coull Quartet, currently in residence at Warwick Medical School, will be performing a free concert this week at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW).
The concert on Thursday 19 March has been organised by the UHCW Healing Arts Committee, a group that aims to combine visual and performing arts to enhance the hospital environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Andy Stein, Consultant and member of the Healing Arts Committee said: "Through the use of music and other performance the HAC aims to contribute to the well-being of patients, staff and visitors.
"We are very grateful to all the performers who have donated their skills free of charge from the St Andrew's Benn Primary School Steel Band and The Braunston Ensemble to the illustrious Coull Quartet."
The Coull Quartet has been in residence at the University of Warwick since 1977, and has performed and broadcast extensively throughout the UK, the USA and Western Europe.
The Coull Quartet will perform at 5pm at the UHCW Faith Centre, for more information call 02476 965474.
