White paper launched on 'Maternal and Newborn Health'

Professor Dieter Wolke from Psychology and Warwick Medical School at the University of Warwick, was part of the editorial team that prepared the white paper: “Caring for Tomorrow – EFCNI on Maternal and Newborn Health and Aftercare Services” (EFCNI is the European Foundation for the Care of Newborns and Infants) that was launched at the European Parliament in Brussels on 22 and 23 November 2011.

The launch was attended by Members of the European Parliament, representatives of WHO, other stakeholders, alongside representatives of the EU Commission, DG Sanco and DG Research. All representatives offered their full support for the Call to Action, the White Paper and our work in general.

If you can agree to the 10 demands laid down in the Call to Action for Newborn Health we would be grateful if you could give us your support and our preterm infants your voice by voting online at http://www.enemenemini.eu/. The European campaign "ene, mene, mini" will stay online for the next few months and the volume of votes will serve as an additional argument towards EU and national policy makers and other stakeholders for urgent action in the fields of maternal and newborn health as well as aftercare services.
