Warwick Infant and Family Wellbeing Unit

Warwick Infant and Family Wellbeing Unit (WIFWU) brings together expertise with the goal of providing research, training and innovation in effective evidence-based ways of supporting parenting during pregnancy and the first two years of life, in order to promote the social, emotional and psychological development of infants.

 WIFWU has three goals:

  • To provide a programme of research focused on identifying evidence-based ways of working with parents during pregnancy and the first two years of life;

  • To provide a programme of training to a range of practitioners and professionals across both health and early years settings, using a model that will facilitate wide and rapid dissemination of a range of new and innovative ways of working with parents;

  • To promote development and innovation in the field of early intervention by i) working with directors of training to promote collaboration and to develop existing programmes using new findings from a range of academic disciplines; ii) facilitating links across disciplines to promote innovative practice.
