Rebecca Crosby

I am a third year PhD student within the Division of Health Sciences at Warwick Medical School.

My research is focussing on investigating the predictors of uptake of mammography screening. This will include both international and UK data. The research will also include developing a questionnaire to determine if personal risk and/or personal sociodemographics and characteristics are associated with either uptake and/or informed choice within the breast screening programme. It will comprise the following:

  • Systematic Review: What are the predictors of breast cancer screening uptake worldwide?
  • Secondary Data Analysis: In whom are patterns of attendance changing in UK population breast cancer screening?
  • Questionnaire: Are personal characeristics and/or a woman's personal breast cancer risk profile associated with attendance and/or informed choice in breast cancer screening

My research is funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) West Midlands. The research will be conducted under Theme 3 Detection and Prevention of Diseases.
