Aims and Learning Outcomes
On completion of the module, you should be able to
- Maintain clinical records, following best-practice standards
- Demonstrate rigorous clinical reasoning and decision-making
- Undertake clinical assessment demonstrating appropriate evaluation of evidence from, for example, history, examination and investigations, with an appropriate spread of suggestions in the differential diagnosis
- Undertake risk assessment leading to an appropriate management plan, including consideration of risks to the patient and others
- Investigate and refer taking appropriate account of the views of relatives, carers and any other relevant third parties
- Undertake care planning, including appropriate arrangements made, recorded and communicated for follow up over the full period of a treatment programme
- Communicate effectively (orally and in writing) with a wide range of audiences, including other health professionals, patients and carers
- Demonstrate professional standards in all aspects of orthodontic therapeutic practice
- Evaluate own practice through critical reflection on a range of performance evidence and identify priorities for ongoing professional development
