Dendrimers

Dendrimers are monodisperse spherical polymeric species which interesting properties. We have previosuly prepared a range of polyester and polyurethane dendrimers. The latter with CO2 as a feedstock to make the polyurethane linkages (instead of toxic isocyanates). We are currently preparing dendrimers which display catalytically active sites for use in C/C coupling reactions. We have shown that the homogeneity of polyester dendrimers can change during characterisation by MALDI-MS.
