Science City AM2 Equipment

The Science City Research Alliance (SCRA) is a programme of collaboration between the Universities of Warwick and Birmingham and is part of Birmingham Science City, a regional initiative to encourage growth and support science and technology in the West Midlands. SCRA encompasses several projects in the areas of Energy, Materials and Medicine. The projects were possible thanks to a mixture of European and UK Regional Development Funding (via Advantage West Midlands, the Regional Development Agency).

A wide variety of materials characterisation equipment was purchased by the Advanced Materials 2 (AM2) project, some of which is housed in the Chemistry department and represents £3.5M worth of investment. Other equipment is housed in the department of Physics and at the University of Birmingham. Inter-departmental and institutional collaboration is encouraged, and we welcome enquires from other Universities and companies. For more information please visit the project's main pages at go.warwick.ac.uk/am2.

Internal users should contact us to discuss their experiments and arrange training. Instruments can be booked at go.warwick.ac.uk/am2facilities.
