Vasiliki Nikolaou

Biography:

Vasiliki Nikolaou was born in Athens, Greece in 1987.

She completed her undergraduate Chemistry Degree (2:1) in the University of Patras, Greece in 2010. Her Diploma thesis, supervised by Prof. J. Mikroyannidis, was entitled "Alternating Phenylenevinylene and Thienylenevinylene Copolymers with Cyano Groups: Synthesis, Photophysics and Photovoltaics".

In 2012, she obtained a MSc "Polymer Science and its Applications" in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, graduating with 1st Class Honours. Her masters project was carried out under the supervision of Prof. M. Pitsikalis and was entitled 'Synthesis of Polymers using Anionic Polymerization combined with Click Chemistry'.

Further pursuing her studies, Vasiliki started her PhD in 2012 under the supervision of Professor D. Haddleton which is jointly funded by The Lubrizol Corporation, a specialty chemical company that produces and supplies technologies, which are designed to improve the quality and performance of products in the global transportation, industrial and consumer markets.
