Working in partnership with UK, European and International water companies helping to reduce flooding, prevent pollution and improve rivers and bathing water, Detectronic specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of ultrasonic wastewater flow and level monitoring equipment for the water industry.

Since the early 1980s, members of Detectronic’s design team have been involved in the development of sewer monitoring products and services to ensure clients get the most out of their network monitoring programmes. Founders Gerry Burby, Steve Woods and Dave Walker have over 80 years’ combined industry experience meeting the flow measurement requirements of the international water industry, flow survey companies and consulting engineers.

Providing cost effective and technologically advanced flow measurement systems, Detectronic is focused on measuring, recording, reporting and reacting to depths and flow rates in municipal and industrial process flows and waste water channels and pipes. These include: Wastewater - sewers, storm drains and combined sewer overflows as well as highways and land drainage channels; Process Flow monitoring and control in food, chemical, pharmaceutical and other manufacturing industries.

Installation of Detectronic monitoring and measurement products and use of Detectronic analysis and reporting systems enables our Customers, their stakeholders and operations teams to work more efficiently, improve compliance, reduce costs and increase their customers’ satisfaction.

Detectronic is a founder-member of the Centre for Industrial Ultrasonics (CIU). We are also working with Salford University to jointly develop Statistical Analysis Algorithms as part of our development of automated data-processing tools. We are also working with Dr Andrew Kirby (Durham University) on two optical measurement projects for wastewater applications.
