Instability of Frame Structures with Highly Shear Deformable Members

Design and commissioning of an experimental test method to measure the instability response of shear-flexible portal frames. Assessment of the novel test results will be made using existing in-house modelling approaches and advanced finite element analysis. This fundamental research project would have an impact in designing FRP structures if beam-column members are of batten or sandwich construction.
