Prof. J. Evans

She has 27 years of experience investigating food refrigeration operations, including consumer handling of food, studies to improve the performance of domestic and commercial refrigerators, energy labelling, cook-chill systems, novel refrigeration systems (including air cycle), optimising refrigeration systems and improving performance and temperature control in chilled and frozen storage rooms. This includes optimisation of the refrigeration system, air flows and structure of enclosures. Judith is chairperson of the IRC (International Refrigeration Committee) and a member of the IIR (International Institute of Refrigeration) C2 (food science and engineering) and D1 (retail display cabinets) sub commissions. She is the UK IOR representative to the IIR and editor of the Journal of Food Engineering.

Dr D. Andrews

She is a senior lecturer working in design and life cycle assessment. She completed a PhD at Imperial College in 2006 which investigated Life Cycle Assessment, sustainability, vehicle design and manufacture. Since then she has led a number of related research projects. She has published widely on Life Cycle Assessment and regularly applies her specialist knowledge to consultancy, enterprise and research projects, including several EPSRC funded CASE awards.
