Abstract: IMAGES project (Integrated Market-fit and Affordable Grid-scale Energy Storage) is an EPSRC funded multidisciplinary research project (http://integratedenergystorage.org/). The project aims to explore the value of energy storage in supporting renewable energy integration and grid balance. The project focuses on two particular energy storage technologies: compressed air energy storage and high temperature thermal storage.

The talk will explain how the project is organised for multidisciplinary collaboration research. Some research work conducted through the project and the major research outputs will be reported.

The current research challenges in the area will be introduced and some ongoing research work will be presented for potential research collaboration.
