LMS Prospects in Mathematics

7-8 September 2018

Organiser: Stefan Adams

LMS Prospects in Mathematics Meetings are annual events for Finalist Mathematics Undergraduates and Masters Students who are considering applying for a Ph.D. after they have completed their current studies. The meetings feature speakers from a wide range of mathematical fields across the UK who discuss their current research and what opportunities are available to prospective Ph.D. students. LMS Prospects in Mathematics Meetings are two-day meetings which usually take place in September each year. This year the meeting is organised by the University of Warwick (Mathematics Institute).

Registration

Interested students should apply online here by 1st August 2018 but we recommend applying as soon as possible (we are assigning the places once we receive applications). We ask you to let us know your degree course, year of your study, your University and your area of interest (e.g., the topic of your essay/project/MSc thesis etc) in mathematics. Alternatively, please email Dr. Stefan Adams (s.adams@warwick.ac.uk) headed Prospects 2018 Application with the statement: “I am on track academically to begin Ph.D. studies in 2019” with evidence of your predicted degree classification.

We offer support for UK travel (up to £100, in case more is needed students may send an email to the organisers), accommodation on campus including breakfast as well as a full board (Friday / Saturday with lunch, dinner, reception, coffee/tea breaks).
