Sticking together: lipids, membrane proteins and their interactions

Membrane proteins embedded in lipid bilayers are typically encoded by some 20-30% of genomes and include many important protein families, including the largest known protein family, the G protein coupled receptors. Furthermore, many soluble proteins interact with lipids in membranes and lipid droplets

In this lecture, Professor Klein will present fundamental mechanisms of membrane protein folding, misfolding and allosteric regulation, interactions of proteins with lipids and with other proteins, including membrane proteins.
