Institute of Clinical Education fun for Children in Need

Pudsey bearStaff and students in the Institute of Clinical Education within Warwick Medical School are all pulling together to raise lots of money for Children in Need on Friday, November 17.

Prof Ed Peile has offered to sponsor students to give up the cigarettes at an accumulative rate for a 10 week period, thus helping Pudsey and promoting a healthy lifestyle. In return Prof Peile is being sponsored to shed the extra pounds gained from a few too many chocolate bars to bring him into a healthy BMI.

Dr Dawn Collins has asked that the second year students raise £100 for her to give a lecture on the day dressed as Snow White. Additionally, Dr Carolyn Rodgers will be sponsoring seven students to become Snow White's seven dwarfs.

Dr Vinod Patel has kindly pledged £140 for seven students in the first year to rise to the challenge of having their hair coloured, one colour of the rainbow each.

The staff and students will be having a cake bake and as always we hope that this will raise a lot of money, last year staff and students munched their way through over £600 worth of cakes (there are some good cooks on the hill!)

Finally, the staff have bravely agreed to bring in their baby pictures for a Who’s Who competition. Students will pay £1 to enter. The first prize is dinner for the winner and five friends, cooked by Ms Deborah Markham and the runner up prize is a very tasty Pudsey cake cooked by Jane Padfield.

Staff across the university are warmly invited to come to the Medical Teaching Centre on the day to buy a cake, and laugh at the students and staff.
