The emergence of artificial culture in robot societies

This interdisciplinary project explored how robots could be used to understand complex systems and the emergence of new patterns of behaviour in such systems. Through the use of robots, both embodied and virtual, the team developed a participatory platform through which to present to the public models of how society functions. The aim was to better understand the link between micro-processes (interactions between individual agents) and macro level behaviours (characteristics of the system or society as a whole).
