Biography

I am Principle Teaching Fellow in Medical Education at the University of Warwick Medical School. My main responsibilities include academic leadership for assessment within for the MBChB graduate-entry programme, postgraduate programmes and continuing professional development (CPD). On joining Warwick Medical School in 2011 my initial focus was to lead the design of the assessment strategy for the refreshed MBChB curriculum which was rolled out in 2013. My role includes supervision of PhD research students in the field of medical assessment and supervision of MMedEd dissertation students on a diverse range of topics and Chair of the MBChB Assessment Group. My research interests are primarily around medical assessment. I am a member of the Medical Schools Council Assessment Alliance Reference Group and the Association for the Study of Medical Education Psychometrics Special Interests Group. My teaching commitments include teaching on the postgraduate Masters in Medical Education course where I am responsible for leading the Assessment in Clinical Education module, and staff development relating to assessment issues. Prior to 2011 I was Assessment Lead for Hull York Medical School (HYMS), where together with the Dean of the Undergraduate School I was responsible for the design and delivery of assessment.
