Dr Veronica Nanton

Since arriving at Warwick as a Research Fellow in 2005 I have undertaken  research in primary and secondary care settings relating to supportive and palliative care in cancer and long term conditions. My previous research experience  was related to the social determinants of health and this has been a continuing theme alongside my focus on advanced illness.

Since 2014 much of my work has involved the development and use of digital interventions to support care for cancer patients and to promote access to services for carers. I also collaborate on a number of projects seeking to investigate and remediate inequalities in health experience and outcome for underserved population groups. My particular interest has been in the experience of Black men with prostate cancer.

In 2022 I broadened my activities and took on a role with the NIHR Research Design Service  helping researchers develop their ideas into proposals for submission to relevant funding bodies.

In addition, I undertake several teaching  roles on  the MBChB, Health and Medical Sciences and the Masters in Public Health Programmes. I have been an MBChB phase 1 tutor and I am a current member of the Biomedical Sciences Research Ethics Committee.
