Here you can review the course structure for Medical Education and register module choices for your chosen course of study.

Our Masters in Medical Education (MMedEd) is designed for experienced clinical professionals who have responsibility for education and training, the programme covers the principles and methods of teaching and learning and their application to healthcare, providing the skills needed to plan and deliver successful teaching and learning sessions.

Elements of the course are accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA). The first module, 'Essentials of Clinical Education', is accredited against Descriptor 1 (Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, AFHEA) and the Postgraduate Certificate is accredited against Descriptor 2 (Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, FHEA). The course is only able to be taken part-time only and is thus flexible, and its modular structure allows you to study over three years, starting with the Post Graduate Certificate in the first year, progressing to the Post Graduate Diploma in the second and then going on to the MMedEd stage in the third.

The whole MMedEd will total 180 CATS, made up of 60 CATS at the Certificate stage, 120 CATS at the Diploma and 180 CATS for the full MMedEd. All of the required modules in each year must be taken before a student is allowed to progress to the next year of study.

Please review the module structure for each year of the MMedEd, and when you have done so, register for the modules that you wish to take for each constituent part of the MMedEd by using the links below.

Please use this MMedEd progression diagram to help you find the stage you require.
