A broad-based introductory course on the theory of ethics in relation to healthcare and how this has developed over time

  • Of interest to a wide range of health professionals from multidisciplinary backgrounds
  • A number of specific subject areas are considered using key legal cases and discussion of case studies
  • The practical application of theory in your own practice is emphasised
  • You have the opportunity to bring examples of cases which have ethical issues arising in your own professional practice for group discussion
  • Topics covered include: the professional/patient relationship; treatment of vulnerable adults and children; ethical issues in reproductive medicine; ethics of resource allocation; difficult decisions at the end of life; ethical issues in education of health professionals
