Catherine French

Catherine is a National Institute for Health Research Doctoral Research Fellow at King’s College London. She is undertaking her PhD on the boundaries between academic and health organisations and how knowledge and translational research is transferred between them. She is also interested in qualitative methodology, the roles of managers in research, the health policy process and the role of the state and NHS values.

Prior to starting her fellowship, Catherine worked in the NHS for 8 years in management and service improvement roles across acute care, commissioning and mental health, and therefore brings a practical understanding of the NHS to her research. Catherine has a first class degree in Politics from the University of Sheffield and graduated from the MSc in Health Services Management at Warwick with a distinction. Catherine is an Associate Fellow at Warwick and has taught on the Organisational Behaviour and Health Service Policy module since 2008, becoming module leader in 2010.
