Transferable Skills

As part of the remit of the MOAC Doctoral Training Centre, doctoral students are provided with the opportunity to attend courses designed to develop "transferable skills", such as team building, communication and leadership, which can be applied to all aspects of life. The following are courses that I have attended throughout my life at the MOAC Doctoral Training Centre:
  • Team Building Course, April 2005

DTC training course, in conjunction with Imperial College's Chemical Biology Center, held in the Cotswalds. Concentrated on building communication skills, with workshops and team building exercises. DTC training course, in conjunction with Imperial College's Chemical Biology Center, held in London. The conference focused on communication of science through the media. Students worked in teams to produce a science based television and radio program (available from here). Transferable Skills conference held at Cumberland Lodge, Windsor Great Park, focusing on the decision making process, and how to make decisions. The course was attended by members of the MOAC DTC and the Chemical Biology Centre at Imperial College, London.
