BBC Mic Close UpThe course gave insight into professional media practice, while covering many aspects of the communication of science in public contexts. Special focus was given to the repersentation of science in the media and the role of science in general culture. The program porvided a balance of technical and theoretical training for scientist engaged in research. The week long course was led by Gareth Mitchel, Imperial College lecturer and presenter of BBC Radio 4 science program 'Click'.

Workshops were held by Dr. Claire Ainsworth, freelance journalist and former Nature Magazine journalist, on 'Communicating with Non-Specialists' and Dr. Oscar Ces, on 'The Stakeholders in Science Communication'.
