Fibrous protein research

Fibrous proteins include microtubules and actin in the cytoskeleton, collagen and amyloid fibres. A number of students are working on projects in this field using a wide variety of molecular biology and biophysical techniques.

has studied the bacterial tubulin homologue FtsZ using circular dichroism, electron microscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy.
