Physicists of the Year 2012

35 sixth form students celebrated their scientific success at a recent Physicist of the Year awards ceremony at the University of Warwick; joined by family and friends they received their prizes and certificates from Tim Simmons, Chief Executive of The Ogden Trust.

This annual event, now in its third year, was organised by Ogden Teacher Fellow, Ally Caldecote. "As well as recognising the achievements of gifted young physicists, the events gives students and their families a chance to learn more about studying at university," explains Ally. "There were physics demonstrations and activities, and a talk by Professor Tony Arber on Fusion: Our mission to create a clean, infinite supply of energy"

Recipients of the Ogden Physicist of the Year award are eligible to apply for an Ogden undergraduate scholarship to support degree-level study in physics or a related subject.
