2010 Introductory Summer School in Astronomy for New Research Students

The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), runs an annual one-week summer course for new graduate students starting their PhDs in the coming October. We are pleased to welcome this year's astronomy PhD students to the University of Warwick between 6-10 September 2010.

The School will include introductory lectures across different research areas of astronomy as well as a programme of social events in and around the attractive Warwick campus. There will be the opportunity to meet many leading internationally recognized astronomers, young researchers who are part way through their PhD programmes and of course other research students who will be starting their own research careers.

Attendance at the school will be free for STFC-supported students. This includes accommodation and meals but individual travel costs should be claimed directly from STFC. Postgraduate students who are not supported by STFC are welcome to register for a place as well, provided their University has approved their attendance and will cover the costs. Please consult the costings page for more details before registering.

We look forward to seeing you at Warwick this September.
