Grayscale and false colour scanning tunneling micrographs of MnSb.

Generated from the grayscale, a pentatonic piece which picks up on the atomic positions:

From the falsecolour, a piece which is much more sensitive to the size variation between atoms and uses the Phrygian Dominant scale for a sinister feel:

The features in this image are long and thin rather than circular, leading to longer note durations:

Music was generated from this image using the Japanese Hirajoshi scale:

A transmission electron micrograph of gold nanoparticles grown on a sheet of graphene oxide.

Music was generated from the image and its negative, picking up on the background detail and nanoparticles respectively.
