1. Ensure you satisfy the following criteria:
(i) You have not resided in the UK for more than 12 months in the last 3 years. If you have resided in the UK for any period of time int he last 3 years please indicate this on your application.
(ii) You have not already obtained a PhD.
(iii) You are within the first 4 years (full time equivalent) of completing your first degree.
(ii) You understand that the funding is for 3 years and you will need to submit a PhD thesis within 4 years.
(iii) You understand that these Early Stage Researcher Fellowships include
* research work to be undertaken largely at Warwick
* an industrial secondment of at least 3 months (these are specific to each project)
* an international secondment of at least 3 months (these are specific to each project)
* a training programme that will be undertaken by the whole cohort of students
* Choose to apply to the MOAC PhD, F1P7 (this ensures the application comes to the right place).
* Where the form asks for funding, indicate that you are applying for a scholarship (from CAS-IDP).
* Where the form asks for a project outline, begin the section with the title the CAS-IDP. Indicate which projects (see
here) for which you are applying in order of preference, indicate that you understand you may have a telephone interview, indicate that you will be available for the selection weekend from 15–16 March, 2013, and outline why you are interested in this opportunity.
* Provide references and transcripts as required by the application process.
* Send a CV (see below) to Professor Rodger (A dot Rodger at warwick dot ac dot uk) as well as submitting it with your application form as required.
3. Include in your CV a section with evidence from your previous experience where you have exhibited the following 9 characteristics which will be displayed by Fellows who will thrive in CAS-IDP:
* Scientific knowledge across disciplines (including a first degree in a relevant subject),
* Willingness to learn
* Technical competence,
* Presentation skills,
* A track record to deliver,
* Innovation and creativity,
* Team working skills,
* Leadership experience, and
* Ability to organize themselves and others.
Applications will be processed by the Supervisory Team of CAS-IDP on receipt. The short-listing process will be based on your application form, references, transcripts and in some cases a telephone interview. Shortlisted applicants will be invited, by email, to the Selection Event. Successful candidates will be notified within a few days of their final interview. The CAS-IDP PhD programme will commence on 1st September, 2013.
