What can be funded?

We can fund Outward and Inward secondments as described in this summary. The full details are given in an EPSRC document here, and this constitutes the terms and conditions of taking up a WKTS grant.

1. Outward secondments

We can fund secondments (normally up to 12 m) of post-PhD researchers who were previously funded by any EPSRC research grant (PDRA, studentship, DTA, CTA, DTC etc.) to UK user organisations. The aim must be to exploit that basic EPSRC research.

Funds in support of outward secondments can be used for

  • salary (& superannuation and NI) - RA Scale i.e. post submission of PhD
  • reasonable travel and subsistence costs

They should not be used for

  • estates or indirect costs
  • equipment
  • consumables
  • co-investigators
  • general support for consultancy
  • IP costs

2. Inward secondments

We can fund specific research projects (normally up to 12 m) at Warwick carried out by someone employed by a user organisation and building on knowledge generated with EPSRC funding.

Funds in support of inward secondments can be used for

  • estates and indirect costs at Warwick (standard RA levels)
  • consumables (including small equipment)

They should not be used for

  • salary (& superannuation and NI)
  • major equipment
  • general support for consultancy
  • IP costs

Warwick Researchers: applications are invited at any time.

Companies and other User organisations: make contact with the management team or directly with researchers at Warwick.
