Video Personal Statement for Sustainable Automotive Electrification
Upload Video Statement for MSc in Sustainable Automotive Electrification.
Use this page to submit a video of your personal statement for the MSc in Sustainable Automotive Electrification. Please read the following guidance carefully.
Your video statement should describe the technical details of a project you have worked on, either in an industrial or academic setting. The video is being assessed by a subject expert, so do not be afraid of using technical terms. It is vital that you include some technical depth to your video. Do not just say things like "we tried again and it worked" or "it was very complicated". Instead explain the detail - what did you change? Explain the complexity.
Please note the following points carefully before you record your statement:
- Your video must be at least 2 minutes and no more than 5 minutes in duration.
- It must be you (i.e. the applicant) visible in the video and it must be you speaking. You must not under any circumstances use a stand-in for video or audio.
- You are not being judged on the quality of the video footage, so a smartphone camera or webcam are perfectly adequate. However, your whole face must be clearly visible at some point in the video so we can be certain it is you speaking.
- Speak clearly and record your statement in a quiet, well-lit environment. Stairwells, restaurants or busy streets are not ideal.
- If you wish to edit your footage, that is fine; you do not have to do the whole statement in one go.
- Do not add English subtitles to your video.
- You can refer to notes, but do not simply read pre-prepared material. This is absolutely vital. Instead, make notes, practice and deliver your statement in an engaging way as if you were presenting to an audience. Feel free to use your imagination.
- You can edit other material into your video (images or other footage) if you wish, but this is not a requirement. If you decide to edit the footage, there must be a section that clearly shows it is you speaking.
We will not publish your video. It will be used for internal purposes only.
