A 4.5 day Master’s level course for business leaders, delivered by experts from WMG and the Institute for Collaborative Working.
Strategic partnerships, global sourcing and alliances have become established routes to successful business performance. As such there is an increased emphasis on safe-guarding the process of leading collaboration agendas across internal functions and inter-organisational boundaries so that the stakeholder group functions cohesively in guiding itself in a truly effective manner.
Working collaboratively requires a different type of leadership, one that ensures management takes itself beyond internalised and localised goals. Developing the skills of collaborative leadership requires individuals understanding that collaborative leaders are not single-handedly producing plans and directing people, rather they are catalysts in helping others to focus on what is best for all stakeholders. Practising collaborative leadership within a culture of trust-building and cooperation helps to facilitate mutual buy-in, engenders more involvement in the responsibility for successful implementation and in achieving a rewarding return on investment.
At the core of this course is the world’s first relationship management standard, BS 11000, for creating and maintaining successful business-to-business collaborations, published by the British Standards Institution and based on the CRAFT methodology. It establishes a foundation on which collaborative leadership can be developed and for leaders to go on to create the right environment for collaboration. It sets out a framework that enables an organisation of any size and sector to apply good practice principles to its own ways of working.
This course provides a structure for dealing with these issues and for the development of collaborative leadership to meet the strategic challenges of tomorrow.
