HRH The Duke of York Visits WMG's Digital Lab

HRH the Duke of York visited WMG on 6th May to meet with staff and tour the International Digital Laboratory. He spent time with WMG researchers and engaged actively with the research demonstrators, including virtual surgery, electrical systems in cars and the Eco F3 racing car.

He was particularly interested to see the automotive projects which had led on from the work viewed on his earlier visit to WMG in 2004 and he saw the impact of our research work across a number of sectors.

Following the tour he took part in an in-depth round table discussion led by Professor Thrift (University Vice-Chancellor) and Professor Lord Bhattacharyya (Director of WMG) focusing on industry training and Research and Development in the West Midlands and opportunities in international tertiary education.
