BIOGRAPHY

Dr Emile Glorieux is a Research Fellow with the Digital Lifecycle Management (DLM) group, headed by Professor Dariusz Ceglarek, at WMG department of University of Warwick. His research interests are manufacturing automation, robotics, motion planning, evolutionary computations, multi-disciplinary modelling, and simulation-based/multi-objective optimisation. He completed his PhD studies in 2017, under supervision by Professor Bengt Lennartson, at the Production Technology West (PTW) research centre of the Engineering Science department at University West in Trolhättan, Sweden. The topic of his PhD thesis was "Multi-robot motion planning and end-effector design optimisation for handling compliant sheet metal parts". He received his Master’s Degree in Mechatronics from KU Leuven Technology Campus in Ostend, Belgium. During his Master's studies, he investigated offline path planning and robot programming for 3D-printing using robotic additive manufacturing for metallic aerospace components. He has been contributing on several projects involving (i) multi-disciplinary modelling for industrial multi-robot motion planning and trajectory optimisation, (ii) optimal end-effector design for handling compliant sheet metal parts, (iii) novel evolutionary single- and multi-objective optimisation techniques.
